How to elaborate a scientific paper on transplantation: from research to journal

We would like to invite you to the Workshop on How to prepare a scientific work on transplantation: from research to journal that will take place at the SBTMO 2017 Congress. This workshop aims at discussing the development of clinical research works in transplantation and will serve as counselling for ongoing projects review.

The course aims to review important concepts for the development, management, analysis and presentation of results of studies in clinical research in the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The program is divided in two parts: lectures with concepts and discussion of proposals of works or works in progress. The first part with the lectures includes discussion of the topics presented so that there is interaction with the participants. The second part the participants will present the proposal briefly for discussion. Only papers submitted in advance will be considered to be included in this part of the course. Those interested in having their papers reviewed and discussed in the course will have to submit them for review up August, 1st 2017. Instructions for submission below.

Clinical researchers in the field of transplantation.

  • Mary Eapen, professor at Wisconsin Medical College and Scientific Director of CIBMTR in Milwaukee, USA.
  • Vanderson Rocha, professor and head of the USP Transplant Department.
  • Paul Martin, professor at the University of Washington, medical director of clinical research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, USA.



The lectures and discussion will be conducted in English.



Vacancies are limited. Attendees with works or projects submitted will have preference for registration. Maximum of 40 participants.

Papers and Work Proposals to be Discussed

Participants who wish to receive counselling on work during the course should submit them for review by August 1 so that we can prepare for the discussion. Works received after this date will not be considered. The format of the proposal must be in English and follow the structure bellow:

  • Title
  • Objectives
  • Background information
  • Patient Eligibility
  • Outcomes
  • Analysis plan


This proposal can be summarized in 1 to 4 pages. Participants need to be registered and need to submit the proposal both to eventos@abhh.org.br and mpasquini@mcw.edu including in the subject of the email, Pre-Congress Course in Clinical Research: Work Proposal
